Residents' quiz on difficult junction

RESIDENTS have been asked for their views on a junction with “poor visibility” in Lymm.
People in the Highfield Road area have been concerned for some time about the “difficult” turn into Booths Hill Road.
They say it has poor visibility because of cars parked near the junction and cars speeding on the main road, which causes safety problems.
Lymm Councillors Bob Barr and Ian Marks have used e-campaigning to find out what residents want – and distributed a survey.
Coun Barr said: “Warrington Borough Council proposed putting double yellow lines along the south side of Booths Hill Road near the junction.”
He said the proposal was not extensively advertised and many residents were not aware of the plan and so could not express a view.
Most residents who completed the survey were in favour of the double yellow lines, and many thought there should also be other traffic calming measures.
Coun Barr said: “This will go to the next traffic committee at the Town Hall to resolve the matter in the best way to make this junction safer.”
