THE former commanding officer of No 635 Gliding School – which was based for many years at Burtonwood – is returning to Warrington.
Bryan Trunkfield will be giving an illustrated lecture about his time at Burtonwood at Penketh Conservative Club, Meeting Lane, Penketh on Monday, February 22.
His talk will include fascinating stories about Burtonwood, both about the gliding school and the US Army.
Bryan, who was also deputy director of Liverpool Airport, will be bringing two former gliding instructors with him, one of who was civil chief engineer at RAF Burtonwood.
Admission to the talk will be free to members of the Burtonwood Association and there will be a nominal £1 admission fee for non-members. The evening starts at 7pm.
