Seeing history come to life

A GROUP of 44 students from Warrington saw history come to life when they enjoyed a six-day trip to Rome.
The Priestley College History and Archaeology students visited sights including the Coliseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. They also took a sightseeing tour of Rome and visited the Vatican Museum.
Later the group visited the Bay of Naples, Pompeii and saw Mount Vesuvius.
First year history student Lucy Mills said: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, very interesting and lots of fun. It was useful to see elements of our studies actually in real life.”
Fellow student Vicky Fleming, who is studying Archaeology and History, said: “The Rome visit was absolutely brilliant and I would love to go back again in my own time.”
