Recycling robot to visit schools

A STATE-of-the-art robot will be visiting 10 schools in Warrington to teach youngsters about the benefits of recycling.
Warrington Borough Council’s environment team is working with partners to ensure primary school children understand climate change and the importance of caring for the environment.
As part of recycling education the robot, Cycler, will visit local schools and tell pupils how to fight the problem of waste by reducing, reusing and recycling.
Coun Alan Litton, the borough council’s executive member for environment services, said: “These visits are great because they capture the pupil’s imagination and are a great, relatable way to get this important message across to our younger residents.”
Cycler has visited more than 2,000 schools throughout the country and many have since developed environmental projects and reduced their waste.
