Girls win top Guiding award

0

TWO local girls received the highest award possible in Guiding after completing a series of activities.
Lymm High School pupils Heather Jones, 15, and Jennifer Bates, 13, both passed the Baden-Powell Challenge.
The girls, members of the 4th Lymm Guides, received their awards from Alison Pennycook, Lymm District Commissioner.
To gain the awards the girls completed a variety of tasks including arranging a mini-Olympics, comparing Fair Trade products and looking at the issues involved, and arranging evenings focussing on Switzerland and the Jewish New Year.
They also continued to pursue an interest in music and gave presentations – Heather plays the flute and Jennifer plays the tenor horn. They also looked at current fashion trends and how clothes make people feel.
