Wolves explain fixture change

WARRINGTON Wolves have brought forward their final Super League match against Huddersfield Giants by two days, to give the players more time to prepare for their likely play-off clash with Wigan Warriors.
The fixture has been moved from Sunday September 7 and will now be played at 8pm on Friday September 5 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Director of Commercial Development, Dave Hutchinson, said: “I understand how very frustrating for our fans a fixture change at short notice is.
“Due to the nature of Super League’s television rights deal with SKY we are often put in the position of moving games from their traditional Sunday 3pm timeslot to fit in with TV scheduling.
Warrington Wolves, during the second half of the season, have already had five fixture changes due to TV, twice for home fixtures and three times for away games.
“However, on this occasion against Huddersfield Giants, we the club have requested a fixture change for the first time ourselves.
“The reason for this, extraordinary request, is purely to give our team as long as possible to prepare for the first round of the Super League play offs. Giving us six days rather than four days, in line with Wigan, our most likely opponents who will also be playing on the Friday.
“I am sure our fans would agree that maximising our play off chances in this way, both fans, staff and players, could all benefit alike.
“I trust and hope our loyal supporters will understand the situation and will continue back us with the usual fantastic and unwavering support.”
