LOCAL residents are being given the chance to shape the future of Warrington by suggesting improvements to the town through a public consultation exercise.
The Warrington Partnership is aiming for the town to be one of the best places to live and work in the UK by 2030 and is asking residents for their thoughts on how to achieve this.
A draft of the Sustainable Communities Strategy has been drawn up and covers all aspects of community life including

health services, leisure facilities, making areas safe, schools, and job opportunities.
Other ambitions for the strategy are to maintain a strong economy, provide a sustainable, attractive and vibrant environment, create safe, strong, flourishing communities, ensure everyone has good health and well-being, and inspire people to reach their potential and lead fulfilling lives.
The deadline for participating consultation questionnaires is Friday, October 3, and is open to all residents of the town to share their views and ideas for Warrington 2030.
Deputy leader of the borough council Keith Bland said: “This is a hugely ambitious plan but we believe we need to set bold aspirations if we are to make the improvements that our residents deserve. Residents have the right to influence the future of the town and we want people to be actively involved, giving ideas, taking ownership and making it happen.
“Warrington is already a great place. We have excellent education results, relatively low crime and unemployment levels and a very successful, regionally significant economy. We want to build on this success and make Warrington an even better place for everyone.”
