No immediate plans to sign Monaghan

WARRINGTON Wolves have “no immediate plans” to sign disgraced Australian Test Centre Joel Monaghan although he is being tipped to join the club on a three-year contract in 2012.
The brother of Warrington’s Michael Monaghan, who has trained with the Wolves recently after fleeing his home country following a scandal involving a picture of him simulating a sex act with a dog appeared on the internet, has already turned down a move to Castleford, but has been linked with a short term move to Catalans Dragons next season.
He can not be accommodated at the Wolves next season due to salary cap limitations.
But the former Canberra Raiders centre could replace Matt King at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in 2012, when his fellow Australian completes the final year of his contract.
He came to Warrington to stay with his older brother to avoid the media spotlight back home.
Monaghan, aged 28, has apparently told friends he will not make any decision until after Christmas but Catalans’ new coach Trent Robinson is hopeful of landing his signature.
