LATCHFORD Albion Giants continued their recent good form with an entertaining 43-24 victory against a resilient Hindley Stags Reserves
The hosts started strongly and were 18-0 up within the opening 20 minutes.
Firstly Josh Barnard ran a great line off Theo Gabbott’s ball to cross to score.
Shortly after the impressive Logan Lagar barged his way over the Hindley line, before second row Mason Bonney scored a fine solo try racing in from the half way line.
Dave Manfredi added all three conversions.
Credit to Hindley who recovered from this early setback, and they gave themselves some hope with two unconverted tries towards the end of the first half.
Half time score was Latchford 18 Hindley 8
Any possible thoughts of a Hindley come=back were soon extinguished when Lagar crossed for his second try, quickly followed by a score from Gabbott, both converted by Manfredi to put the hosts in full control.
The last 20 minutes saw tries traded from both sides, Albion’s coming from a double to full back Ethan Gaffney showing his pace to score two well worked tries.
Manfredi was flawless with the boot converting both scores before registering a cheeky drop goal at the end to put the seal on an emphatic victory.
