Boy, 16, arrested as police release video to locate e-bike following fail to stop collision

VIDEO: DETECTIVES investigating a collision in Warrington when a 12-year-old girl was seriously injured following a hit-and-run at Orford, are appealing to the public to help locate the E-Bike which was involved in the incident.

It follows the arrest of a 16-year-old boy from the Great Sankey area earlier today.

At around 2.40 pm on Wednesday, 17 June, police were called to Long Lane, Orford, following reports that an E-bike had collided with a child.
The child, a 12-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition at this time.
The rider of the E-bike did not stop and left the scene.
A 16-year-old boy from Great Sankey was arrested in relation to the incident this morning, Friday, 19 June. The E-bike remains outstanding.
The teenager is currently being held in police custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Detective Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “While we now have a suspect in custody, we are continuing to appeal to the public to help locate the E-bike that they were riding at the time of the collision.
