WARRINGTON Wolves’ winger Chris Riley has committed his future to the club by signing a two year contract extension.
It’s a double celebration for local winger Riley who was this week nominated for a wing place at the Rugby League International Federation awards, and has added his name to the list of players committing their future to the Warrington Wolves.
Riley has agreed a two-year contract extension keeping him at the club until November 2013 maintaining the home-grown talent within the squad.
Last season saw Riley play in every game with a memorable opening performance at The Halliwell Jones Stadium touching down for five tries against Harlequins.
In total Riley scored an impressive 29 tries in Engage Super League XV, the most in a season by a Warrington Wolves player in Super League.
Riley has risen through the Wolves ranks from scholarship and academy levels to become the first team regular and double Carnegie Challenge Cup winner he is today. He is a prime example for young up and coming players both on and off the field, who has benefited from the support given to him by Squadbuilder.
The end of the season also saw him named in the England train-on squad for the Four Nations which was another massive achievement for the 22-year-old.
Looking ahead to his future with the Wolves Riley said: “It was an easy decision to make to extend my contract. It would be great to be a one-club man as my heart’s here. The club is on the up and I want to part of any success here at Warrington over the next couple of years.”
