THE managing director of Warrington Borough Transport has been suspended.
John Bannister, who was formerly finance director at the bus company until being promoted a year ago, was suspended on April 23.
An internal investigation is being carried out.
Company chairman Les Hoyle said: “I can confirm that on Thursday April 23 a member of Warrington Borough Transport staff was suspended while an internal investigation takes place.
“As this investigation is now ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this stage.
“Warrington Borough Transport is committed to providing the best possible passenger transport service for everyone who lives, visits and does business in Warrington and our focus remains on delivering a high quality service to our customers.”
