RSPCA seek forever home for super special pooch named Casper

BOO-lieve it or not, Casper the German Shepherd crossbreed, who has been under the care of the RSPCA in Warrington, has been waiting for his forever home for 186 days and counting!

The three-year-old male is under the care of RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens Branch and sadly has yet to find his forever home. He has been in the care of the branch for a mighty 250 days and has been available for rehoming for 186 days.
Casper is looking for a special home with an owner who is understanding and committed to offering him lifelong support.
Animal Care Manager at the branch Katie Buckley, said: “Casper came to us when his previous owner decided that a family setting was too much for Casper to cope with and was causing him distress and was making them very upset to see him so uncomfortable with his life.
“From the very first day Casper arrived with us it was clear that he was terrified of everything but we made a vow to him to help him overcome his fears and he did just that!
“But Casper has blossomed every single day and did his very best to please his handlers and we could not be prouder of how far he has come.
“We are now looking for that special home so he can start his new life.”
Casper is currently in a wonderful foster home and has settled in well.
“His foster home was the next step of his rehabilitation and he is smashing his goals better than we could have expected,” said Katie.
“Although Casper is very nervous, he is also very intelligent and once he has a bond with his human, there’s no stopping him!
“Casper knows most basic commands but has so much potential to learn more. He is excellent at agility and may even enjoy flyball or something similar.
“Casper’s biggest hurdle is meeting new people, and he does have a very high prey drive for pretty much anything that moves, so this is something his new family will need to be aware of!”
Casper is looking for an adult-only home and may be able to live with another dog, but would not be able to live with a cat.
Katie added: “There is so much more to learn about Casper so if you are interested in learning more about him, then please get in touch – we would love to hear from you.”
