A MAN has been arrested at Warrington on an allegation of possessing a knife following smart work by borough council CCTV operators.
They spotted a man stashing a drawstring bag underneath a car near to police officers who were parked up in a van in the town centre.
The officers investigated and found the bag contained a large knife.
Nearby, the suspect was spotted attempting to leave the area but was challenged and arrested.
He spent the night in custody and will be questioned today.
