BUS company Network Warrington has been awarded the contract to operate a shuttle service for revellers attending the town’s Neighbourhood Weekends festival in May.
Buses will be running from both Warrington Bank Quay and Warrington Central railway stations directly to the festival site at Victoria Park. The shuttles will operate from 11.30am-4.30pm from the stations and then back from Victoria Park at 8.30pm-11pm.
Managing director of Network Warrington, Ben Wakerley, explained the importance of winning the contract.
He said: “Every penny we make is reinvested back into Warrington. Put simply, the more people use our buses, the more we can invest in our fleet, routes, services and fares.
“We take contracts where we can, another recent example being the contract to operate a service to Wigan during evenings and Sundays, to help bring in more income to support our existing routes in and around Warrington.
“We’re committed to operating as many services as we can to connect our communities. We do our best to ensure residents aren’t isolated and whilst we can’t cover every inch of Warrington’s highways, winning contracts is one way in which we can continue providing as many of our services as possible.
“The festival is great news for the town and we are delighted to be partners in its delivery.”
