What’s trending in kitchens this year?

THE team at Warrington based JD Kitchens looks at what’s hot for 2018.

Cass, designer suggests open shelving is making a statement.

“Open shelving is becoming increasingly popular with homeowners able to make a statement in their kitchen by adding their own personality with accessories, treasured finds and even deluxe food items. It’s perfect for homes where the kitchen is a focus for entertaining”.

‘Great lighting’, says new team member Jason.

“As kitchens become used for more than cooking, lighting to zone and tie the look together become more important. If you want to sit down and enjoy your meal in the same room, you need options to change the mood from bright cooking space to a more mellow ambience”.

Dave, owner of JD Kitchens suggests that whatever the size of the kitchen, making the most of the space is paramount.

“Floor to ceiling units with no space above the unit not only stops any dust catching, it maximises storage, and it is a key trend for 2018.

Whilst efficient use of space is essential for smaller kitchens, those with a love of entertaining and kitchen gadgetry benefit too.

Internal drawers, pull out storage systems and tall larder storage also help with this, and they create a very streamlined look”.

Finally, Dave explains that colour is big for 2018.

“Whilst grey and cream remain popular base colours, we’re seeing a rise in customers choosing more than one colour unit, or adding accent colours with their worktops”.

Whatever your kitchen ambitions for 2018 the team at JD Kitchens, Warrington are here to help you every step of the way.
