Man suffers burns in house fire

TWO fire engines – one from Warrington and one from Penketh – were called to a house fire at Grappenhall this afternoon.
The blaze was at a house in Kildonan Road and was on the first floor of the property.
One man was treated by fire crews for a burn to his arm.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tacked the blaze with a hose reel jet. A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
The fire is believed to have been caused by smoking materials.
