A MEMORIAL service for the late Christopher Hatton, former solicitor and businessman in Warrington , will be held at St Oswald’s Church, Lower Peover, on Thursday, February 8 at 1pm.
Mr Hatton died on January 7, at the age of 84.
A father of four, he was educated at Heronwater School and Charterhouse and qualified as a solicitor in 1955 at the age of 22, having served articles with his father’s firm, Robert Davies and Co – now FDR Law – and in London. He became senior partner in 1968.
He was a director of a number of companies in Warrington and became chairman of the Longford Wire Company, Greenall, Whitley and Mackie and Company. He was also chairman of Compass Hotels Ltd, a subsidiary of Greenall, Whitley.
Mr Hatton lived in the Warrington area for most of his life but was latterly living at a care home in Mobberley.
In his younger days he was, in addition to his business interests, keen on outdoor pursuits including sailing, shooting, angling, swimming and walking.
