PLANNING has already started for this year’s Culcheth Community Day on Bank Holiday Monday May 7.
Weather permitting, It will again take place on the Village Green – but Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council is again making back-up plans to switch the event to the Shaw Street playing fields car park in the event of the green being waterlogged.
Cllr Sue Bland (pictured) , who is contacting prospective stallholders, said: “We are hoping that this will be the last time we need to have a back-up plan as by next year drainage work on the green should have been carried out.”
Star attraction on the day will be “Above and Beyond” – a trio of trapeze artists.
Charities and voluntary organisations interested in having a stall on the day should contact Cllr Bland on 01925 766641.
Last year’s event proved a huge success with charity groups and voluntary organisations benefiting by an estimated £10,000.
