Man needed surgery after assault outside pub

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for witnesses to an assault which happened in a local  pub and left the victim needing surgery.

The incident happened on December 2 at the Cherry Tree Pub, on Common Lane, Culcheth, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The 48-year-old victim had a verbal argument with three men seated next to the main door of the pub. The dispute then spilled outside and the man was assaulted by one of the three men, leaving him with a fractured cheekbone and nose.

PC Maurizio Lucchesi said: “This assault has resulted in a really nasty injury which required surgery. We are appealing for witnesses who were in the pub, or who might have seen something outside the pub on that night to come forward.
