Major police operation against organised crime gangs

POLICE officers from Warrington were drafted in to help colleagues in Widnes this morning in a major operation against organised crime gangs.
The early morning raids involves more than 340 officers with 12 houses targeted in Widnes and 18 across Merseyside.
Police said the gangs were suspected of exploiting vulnerable people to deal drugs.
So far, officers have arrested 28 people on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
All are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
