STAFF from Onside Warrington Youth Club joined forces with a team of bike riders, cycling 313 miles from London to Paris to raise at least £50,000 for four amazing children’s charities.

Each member of the team was tasked with raising a minumum £1500 in sponsorship to take part in the gruelling challenge.

Fund-raising took place through a variety events including a family fun quiz at David Lloyd, bag packs, bucket collections, raffles and much much more!

The event was organised by Health Enrich, Assured Wealth and Moore Finance, three local companies that have come together with the sole purpose of giving back to local people who need their support and assistance.
As well as supporting Onside Warrington Youth Club, the riders are also raising funds for the following three organisations:

SASSY, set up by Adrian Derbyshire in memory of his daughter Julia who took her own life, supporting young people who are experiencing self-harm or at risk of suicide, educating young people about the trauma of bullying, hate and stigma; Hand on Heart, a charity fundraising to purchase and install free defibrillators in primary schools, and teach life-saving CPR techniques to children and staff and Brainwave, a charity supporting children with brain conditions, injuries and disabilities, to develop greater independence and achieve their potential in life.

Dave McNicholl, CEO said: “As a registered charity we are not guaranteed funding and rely on supporters and fundraising. I am immensely proud that members of the Onside Warrington Youth Club staff team have taken on this challenge, not only to support us, but to also support other young people’s charities within the town”.
