Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after collision on Calver Road

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital following a collision with a car on Calver Road, Warrington at around midday, today (Monday).

The road and nearby Cromwell Avenue was closed while emergency services attended at the scene of the collision involving a blue BMW Z4 and a motorcycle near Pure Gym.

It is understood the air ambulance airlifted the motorcyclist to Aintree hospital with serious injuries, although the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The roads which had been closed in both directions were re-opened to traffic at 14.30.
