YOUNGSTERS involved in the death of three young goats at Walton Gardens have expressed extreme remorse for their actions after returning to the scene with police.

Three goats died and a number of others were seriously ill after they were poisoned with rhododendron leaves fed to them by the youths after they broke into the Walton Gardens Children’s zoo.

The youths, along with a police officer met with zoo rangers who explained the consequences of their action and helped to educate the youths as to how some plants can be toxic to animals.

The youngsters were extremely remorseful for their actions and apologised for all the upset caused. They explained that there was no malicious intent to their actions.

The deceased goats were Mirabel, Adele and Jet who were all aged under 12 months and too young to cope with the poison.

Four other goats Arwen, Blueberry, Amber and Coal recovered but were seriously ill.
