British Heart Foundation seeking volunteers

1

THE British Heart Foundation are looking for volunteers to join their team.

Around 21,500 people across Warrington are fighting a daily battle with heart and circulatory disease. Each year these devastating conditions claim the lives of more than 458 people in Warrington alone.

By giving their time to support the BHF, volunteers also have the opportunity to learn, build and develop new skills, gaining valuable experience whilst doing something incredible to help the fight against heart disease.

A range of volunteer opportunities are available across the area:

Fundraising Group Member – Our fundraising groups are the face of the BHF in their local communities. From the running of fundraising events, to supporting schools and local businesses or organising collections, they are a fantastic way to support our vital work.

Collection Tin Volunteer – The role of a Collection Tin Volunteer involves placing, counting and banking collection tins in the local community.

Community Speaker Volunteer – The role of a Volunteer Speaker involves raising awareness of the BHF in local communities and working with local groups and associations to talk about the work of the charity.

In Memoriam Secretary – The role of an In Memoriam Secretary involves liaising with local funeral directors and families who have requested for donations to be made to the BHF instead of flowers when someone passes away.

Leah Goodhind , Cheshire Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation said: “We are looking for a range of volunteers to join the BHF team here in Warrington.

“Volunteers are absolutely integral to the success of BHF and play a vital part in helping us support more people affected by heart and circulatory conditions.

“We appreciate every minute people can spare and hope that in return our volunteers gain a lot from working with us.”
