Terry Waite’s “definite” booking with male voice choir!

SO it seems it’s now official. Although it’s a day they never want to come, Warrington Male Voice Choir will be singing at their patron Terry Waite’s funeral.
Interviewed for “The Definite Article” page  in the Daily Mail Weekend magazine, among a set of “devilishly probing questions”, Terry  – who has been the choirs’ patron since 1996  – was asked about “The order of service at your funeral”.
In his response he included the comment “The Warrington Male Voice Choir would fill the church and sing Cwm Rhondda to send me out with a bang”.
The choir’s current chairman Bob Williams and musical director Russell Paterson were involved in a discussion some years ago with Terry on this sensitive matter, but all agreed to keep it confidential for obvious reasons.
Bob Williams said: “However, while it would be a great honour  and all involved with the choir – not to mention, we’re sure, Terry himself – hope it is many years away, it now seems the booking is ‘definite’.”
