Local company Horizon Platforms is helping a nearby Warrington rugby team to raise their game with a brand-new kit.

With the new season about to kick-off, the squad of 17 youngsters reached out to surrounding businesses to fund their team shirts.

Despite a fantastic fundraising effort from proud parents, the under 9s were left short, but were lucky to find their main sponsor in the local access platform specialist.

Since then, the mini-players at Woolston Rovers Under 9s Golds have trained twice a week to take to the pitch in their new team garb and compete against other budding teams.

Mark Dillon, Coaching Co-ordinator, said: “Community underpins what we do as a club, so we were keen to grow our connections within the business community to provide local, regional, and national companies a rewarding investment for their corporate social responsibilities. We found a great partner in Horizon.”

Raised locally, Horizon Platforms is proud of its decade of support to charities across the UK. With depots in Warrington and Wakefield, the team provides countrywide powered access platform hire, including scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and personnel lifts.

Ben Hirst, Horizon’s Managing Director, added: “These youngsters are nearly as old as Horizon Platforms so we saw this as great opportunity to help them grow as we do. Woolston Rovers supports the development of new skills, technique, game awareness, and teamwork. The last is something we particularly value in the work we do every day.”
