A new Relationship Manager has joined the team at the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace in Warrington.
Warrington-born Kate Deakin (pictured) is a Relationship Manager with responsibility for developing relationships and generating income for the Foundation, which is a registered charity that relies on the generosity of private individuals and businesses for donations to continue its vital work.
The Foundation, based in Peace Drive, Great Sankey, is preparing to mark the 25th anniversary of the Warrington bombs in 2018. The bombs, which were detonated on the day before Mothering Sunday 1993, killed twelve-year-old Tim Parry and three-year-old Johnathan Ball and injured many others.
In more recent times, its work includes providing emotional support and practical assistance to victims of terror attacks through the Survivors Assistance Network. The team, based at the Foundation, has seen an increase in referrals following the Manchester Arena terror attack and the terror incident at London Bridge.
Kate said she hopes to generate interest and crucially, financial support, for the work of the Foundation. She said she has been “incredibly impressed” to witness the work of the Survivors Assistance Network in recent weeks.
She said: “My ambition for the Foundation is to keep the boys’ names alive, raise awareness of the powerful work that we deliver at the Peace Centre as well as in the community across the country, and as we approach the 25th Anniversary of the Warrington bombing, I want to engage with as many people as possible to support and learn more about the work of the Foundation.”
