New start time for Lymm May Queen parade

LYMM’S annual May Queen Parade which takes place this Saturday (June 10) will have the earlier start time of 1pm.

Festval Chairman Steve Harper says teh new start time is to allow more time on the May Queen Field and due to a wedding taking place at the Lymm Hotel at 2pm.

In addition there will be three showcase points where the procession will stop for a couple of minutes to allow people to watch..

2. By Sextons
3. On Rosebank

This year’s May Queen is Lauren Cooke aged 12, from Lymm High School while six-year-old Aimee Pickles who is a pupil at Statham primary school is the new Rose Queen.
They will take over from last year’s outgoing queens Eva Cope and Eleanor Lawton.

The annual tradition can be traced back to 1889.
