VIDEO: COMEDIAN, actor and writer Eddie Izzard paid a flying visit to Stockton Heath today where he was mobbed by fans.

Greeted by a large crowd of locals and Labour party supporters the star showed his support for the Labour party and urged people to support for Warrington South election hopeful Faisal Rashid.

The flamboyant entertainer made an impassioned speech pointing out that Labour “stood for the many, not the view” and urged people to vote for the town’s former mayor.

Meanwhile Faisal said he was passionate about the town he had made his home 20 years ago and that he had worked for and on behalf of the town in his capacity of councillor and Mayor.

He stressed that he would be available at local forums he planned to set up to hear the views, questions and issues that local people may have.

Izzard then took time to pose for numerous selfies and photographs with delighted fans, making absolutely sure that nobody missed out.
