Warrington pays respects to victims of Manchester bombing

VIDEO: WARRINGTON’S faith and political leaders joined at the town’s Golden Gates today to pay their respects to victims of the Manchester bombing atrocity.

A gathering of more than 100 people turned up at short notice as The Rev Canon Paul D. Wilson, Rector of Warrington, led prayers at the town hall Golden Gates.

He stood side by side with members of Warrington’s Islamic Association. Imam Saleem led a prayer on behalf of the Islamic community, followed by a minutes silence in memory of all those who lost their lives or were injured during the bomb attack which killed 22 people and injured many more.

The Mayor Cllr Les Morgan and Council leader then laid flowers at the Golden Gates.

Members of the public were then invited to lay flowers. A book of condolence has also been opened at the town hall.

Members of the Survivors’ Assistance Network based at Warrington Peace Centre were also on hand to give advice and support.
