GOALKEEPER Tony McMillan was crowned Warrington Town Player of the Year at the club’s end of season presentation night at the weekend.
McMillan, who joined from Stalybridge in November, kept 12 clean sheets in the league to help the Yellows propel themselves in to the play-off race.
Manager Paul Carden praised the experienced shotstopper for his impact at the club, particularly in light of the circumstances in which he joined, replacing former fans favourite and hometown boy Karl Wills.
Captain James McCarten scooped the Supporters Club Player of the Year award for a second successive season, and also walked away with the Players Player of the Year award.
Loanee left-back Josh Askew, who has been subject to offers from Football League clubs, and Scott Harries also received trophies for coming in the top three of the Supporters award.
A special club award was given to retiring director Gary Skentelbery, while reserves manager Steve Hayes won the Peter Turner Award.
Hayes, whose team earned promotion to the Cheshire League Premier Division this season and could yet still be named champions, handed his Player of the Year award to captain Bradley Smart, with Adam Reynolds taking the Players Player of the Year award.
Meanwhile, on the night it was revealed the Yellows will add a second Academy side in 2017/18, Academy manager Keith Southern presented prolific striker Euan Woods with the Player of the Year award, with Aaron Woodward getting the Players Player of the Year award.
