WARRINGTON’S booming Omega North development site is now full, following a deal with Haydock Commercial Vehicles Ltd to develop a new 35,000 sq ft Scania maintenance facility.
One of the largest commercial vehicle service providers in North West England and North Wales, Haydock Commercial will take the final available plot at Omega North and will be providing services to a number of other occupiers on Omega.
This deal marks the occupation of 4.2million sq ft of logistics and industrial space across the whole of Omega after only four years.
The announcement follows the news that Amazon will be the next major occupier to take up  about.356,000 sq ft. of logistics space at neighbouring Omega South, following a speculative development by LondonMetric Property plc last year.
Andrew Sutherland, managing director of Omega Warrington Ltd (OWL) said:: “We are delighted to welcome Haydock Commercial Vehicles Ltd. to Omega.
“After the success of Omega North, we aim to continue to encourage Omega South’s commercial draw, building on Omega’s success as a magnet for investment in the North West. Across all of Omega’s occupiers, the site supports around 7,000 jobs and we look forward to this increasing with the arrival of Haydock Commercial Vehicles and other future occupiers”.
Simon Dykes, dealer principal at Haydock Commercial  said: “We are pleased to be locating to Omega North, an established business hub in the region. This development represents one of the most exciting developments in the long and successful history of Haydock Commercial vehicles.  ‘Customer first’ has always been our mantra, and we are now looking forward to delivering the area’s transport operators with a commercial vehicle facility that is truly second-to-none.”
Work has already started on the new development.
