HUNDREDS of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders were greeted by warm Spring sunshine for the annual St George’s Day parade through Warrington town centre to St Elphin’s Parish Church for a Service of praise, worship and dedication.

The parade was led by the Warrington Pipe Band, with the Mayor, Cllr Faisal Rashid along with the Mayoress, Mrs Aleeza Rashid taking the official salute on the town hall steps.

After an inspired service, led by the Rev’d Paul Wilson (Rector of Warrington); the scouts marched back to the town hall passing many members of the general public and Sunday shoppers, who openly showed their support, watching the traditional colourful spectacular.

Commenting on the event Cllr Rashid said:”Really good to see so many young people turnout for the annual St George’s Day scout parade. We were blessed with glorious weather. I am proud to be associated with the scouting world, its leaders and volunteers from across all of Warrington.”

The scouts were equally pleased with the support from the Mayor, police and council staff, helping make it a tremendous occasion.
