Councillor’s warning over parking at “danger” junction

A WARRINGTON councillor is calling for action to stop drivers creating a road safety hazard by parking on a busy junction.
Cllr Morgan Tarr has highlighted the situation at the junction of Hallows Avenue and Hallfields Road, Orford after being contacted by a number of worried residents.
He wants the borough council to deal with the issue – possibly by introducing yellow lines at the junction.
He said: “I have been contacted by a number of local residents who are concerned about the parking situation on the Hallows Avenue junction withHallfields Road.
“A number of cars are parked right on the corner of the junction and this is causing a potentially dangerous situation, as visibility is considerably reduced for vehicles turning into and out of Hallows Avenue. There is a very real danger that there will be an accident at some point soon if nothing is done about it.
“Having spoken to nearby residents I believe that there is a consensus for restrictions, like double yellow lines, to be put in place around the corner to prevent vehicles from parking.
“Over the upcoming weeks I will be carrying out a further consultation with local residents to determine the level of support for such a proposal.
“If any residents would like to get in touch with me about this matter please e-mail me at [email protected]
