Former pupil supports Cherry Tree School

Local flooring business man and ex pupil of Cherry Tree Primary School Alistair Noone went back to his former school to carry out a good deed – by fitting a free carpet in the school library.

Alastair said: “We are passionate about giving our customers the most stylish and affordable floor coverings from carpets, hardwood floors, vinyl to rugs.

“We’re a family business, so expect a warm and friendly welcome plus our years of experience means you’ll get expert advice, from design to installation and aftercare.

“In our showroom we have a huge range of quality flooring. Some customers know exactly what they want and others come to us for inspiration and ideas. We’re always happy to help and enjoy the fact every job is different. One day we could be working in someone home and the next an office, school or hospital.

Alistair was a pupil at Cherry Tree Primary School in Lymm from 1985 – 1989 and has very fond memories of his school days.

He has worked for Cherry Tree Primary School a couple of times. The school got in touch recently to replace the flooring in two classrooms and the library.

Alistair met with Head Teacher Helen Graham to discuss the schools requirements and provided a quote. Helen got in touch to give the go ahead on the classrooms but due to cuts in government funding advised they would not be able to afford to do the library as well.

With the project and school close to his heart Alastair decided to do the flooring in the library free of charge.

The work was completed during the February half term.

Family business Hale Carpets and Flooring was established in 1979 by Alan Noone and Alistair and his wife Caroline took over the business in 2013 following his father’s retirement.

The flooring shop was originally based in Hale village, Altrincham but bigger premises were needed for a growing business as Alistair decided to expand into commercial flooring as well as domestic.

Their new showroom in Warrington is based off Lymm Road in Thelwall.
