THE family of a Warrington  man reported missing have paid tribute to him after his body was discovered in a field near Beech Tree Lane in Lymm.

Marcus Shaw, 43, from Orford was reported missing by his family last Saturday. Extensive enquiries were carried out by officers but sadly his body was found on Wednesday.

Marcus’s family are currently being supported by specially trained officers.

In a statement, the family said: “We are devastated with the loss of Marcus. He was the central part to our family and a dearly loved son, brother, father, grandfather, partner, uncle and friend to many, many people. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

“As a family we would like to pass on our gratitude to all those who assisted in the search for Marcus since his disappearance on Saturday, in particular Cheshire Police and the search and rescue team volunteers.”

Formal identification took place this afternoon but the cause of death is not yet known.

There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Shaw is known to have visited a barber shop at Lymm and was later seen walking towards the area where his body was subsequently found.
