MOTORISTS faced another morning of misery at Warrington today as a result of a motorway closure.
The M62 westbound carriageway was closed near Burtonwood shortly after 8.30am following a crash described as “serious.”
Lengthy queues built and police were diverting traffic leading to hold-ups in Burtonwood Road, Whittle Avenue and the A57.
It is understood a woman, injured in the crash, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police were urging motorists to try and avoid the area.
Traffic was also being delayed on the M6 following an incident involving two heavy lorries.
