“Granny flat” plan is deferred

PLANNING chiefs at Warrinton have put off a decision on an application to convert a double garage into a “granny flat” – despite having approved an earlier version of the scheme.
The proposal involves a property in Oughtrington Lane, Lymm – close to Lymm High School.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee were told the applicant was a registered disabled person and the plan was for her daughter to move into the property to care for her.
The scheme had been approved at an earlier meeting,  but an amended version had now been submitted. Officers recommended the new scheme be refused because it would have a detrimental  effect on the openness of the Green Belt and the applicant’s needs could be met by the earlier, approved, scheme.
But councillors deferred on a decision to enable more information to be provided.
