WARRINGTON Disability Partnership have agreed to help a disabled man left stranded following the theft of his mobility scooter.

PC Karl Dickin, who is investigating the theft of the Mobility Scooter approached Warrington Disability Partnership & Disability Trading Company, to ensure the man is not stranded at his Orford home over the festive period.

Pc Dickin said: “I spoke to the Chief Executive who has been kind enough to assist me in this.

“He has agreed to assess his needs and provide a suitable replacement scooter free of charge over the festive period until the aggrieved person can save enough money for a replacement.

“Unfortunately the original has thus far not been traced but is believed to have been sighted on the evening of the 6th November in the area of Sandy Lane, Orford heading towards Toll Bar Road in the hands of youths.”

The distinctive scooter is worth £1,000.

WDP CEO Dave Thompson said: “I know only too well what it is like to be left stranded without the use of a wheelchair so we are happy to help and ensure this man can visit his family during the festive period.”

Any one who can assist should call 101 Crime number, 0716345392 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111
