3 Fun Games To Play This Halloween

0

Here in wicked Warrington we love Halloween and we look forward to witnessing the weird and wonderful outfits and antics people get up to every year.

This year though, Halloween actually falls on a Monday, which means most of us won’t be going out for fear we’ll be horrifyingly hungover the next day. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a great Halloween night playing games with your families and friends. Whether you like traditional party games for the whole family or a bit of quiet entertainment alone, here are some great games you can play this Halloween.

Online Bingo

As we’re sure you know, Warrington has some great bingo halls but few of them will be hosting Halloween events this year unfortunately. Never fear though, online bingo is just as fun and sociable, plus you can play a variety of games throughout the evening depending on which site you visit.

Also, as Halloween is on a Monday you’ll be able to play their Movie Madness Monday chat game where you could win a £5 Bingo bonus by guessing the right movie. With any luck the movies will be Halloween themed on the 31st, and you could even get some recommendations from other players on what to watch.

For example, there are over a dozen bingo rooms to choose from including William Hill’s Party room, where you can get Buy One Get One Free tickets every day between 7 and 8 pm – you can click here to join the game.

Bobbing For Apples

Few games are more closely associated with Halloween than bobbing for apples as the game is said to have deeply Pagan roots. This Halloween, The Ruby Lounge are hosting The Dog House – A Nightmare On High Street 2, where guests can expect podium dancers, fancy dress competitions, spooky cocktails and, of course, bobbing for apples. This game is bound to be a little messy, so hopefully the hosts will be handing out towels and if you plan on playing at home it might be a good idea to warm some towels up on the radiators.

Historians believe that apple bobbing was part of the Samhain Pagan festival and was used as a form of worship towards Pomona, the ancient Roman goddess of trees, gardens and fruit. Interestingly, this festival often took place on November 1st, so if you’re playing after midnight Pomona might lend you a helping hand, you never know.

Murder Mystery Dinner

Finally, whilst most people will choose to play a creepy game of Cluedo this Halloween, why not kick it up a notch and host a Murder Mystery Dinner? It may sound like a complicated option with props and scripts, but you can actually buy Murder Mystery Dinner kits from the Internet. Once your family or guests are fed, just follow the instructions that come with your kit and you’ll be having some seriously freaky fun in no time. Alternatively, there is a Comedy Murder Mystery Dinner being hosted on Regent Street over the weekend, with an entirely new, never performed script.

That’s all we have for now but we’re sure that there are plenty of other games you can come up with, so why not leave your ideas in the comments below!
