STOCKTON Heath Fire Station is throwing open its doors to the public for family event that promises something for everyone.
The free open day will take place from 11am until 4pm on Saturday at the station on Ackers Road.
There will be a range of activities taking place including firefighter displays around a mock road traffic collision which involves the crew cutting up a vehicle and rescuing a casualty, plus lots more.
Modern and vintage appliances will also be available to look around as well as specialist vehicles including the service’s largest appliance – the hydraulic platform.
Crew manager Matt Cullen said: “This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station. We would like as many people as possible to come along to the open day, have a great time and leave with some vital fire and road safety messages.”
There will also be ice cream available for a donation to the Firefighters  Charity and refreshments to buy.
