Yellows prepare for tough FA Cup trip

WARRINGTON Town could welcome back influential midfielder Danny Ventre from injury for Saturday’s tough trip to Workington Town in the FA Cup.

Ventre, who has been missing for the past couple of weeks with a hamstring injury, could also be joined in the squad by summer signing, left back Andy Nicholas, who has recovered from a back injury.

But one player who wont be included is striker James Dean, who has been released by the club after failing to settle after joining from Chorley in the summer.

Warrington, who hit the headlines two years ago after embarking on an amazing FA Cup journey, which saw them reach the second round proper away at Gateshead, after a giant killing victory over league Two Exeter City on live TV, will be hoping to improve on last year’s early exit at North West Counties Abbey Hey.

But the former league team, who are currently in the Evo-Stik Premier League alongside the Yellows, will be a tough obstacle to overcome.

Should the game end in a draw on Saturday, a replay would take place at cantilever Park next Tuesday evening.
