THE number of people arrested at the Creamfields music festival has risen to at least 28 after the first 24 hours of the event.
Cheshire Police say they have had a busy time policing the festival at Daresbury, near Warrington.
Twenty two of the arrests were for drug supply offences and two for possessing drugs.
Two other arrests were for carrying an offensive weapon and another for assault. One man was arrested who was wanted by police in Scotland.
Officers will remain on-site throughout the weekend as part of an extensive operation designed to keep people safe and uphold the law where applicable.
While police want festival-goers to enjoy themselves, they want them to  do so safely and within the law, while also being respectful of the wider community.
