WARRINGTON has been ranked the 13th best city to work in an independent survey ranking the top 20 cities to work in the UK.

The survey conducted by international job research website Glassdoor ranked UK cities according to number of job opportunities, affordability, property values and employee satisfaction.

Warrington ranked as fourth highest city in the North of Britain and was only bettered in the North West by Manchester (11th highest).

Councillor Terry O’Neill, leader of Warrington Borough Council, said: “It’s good to see Warrington, once again high in the economic survey rankings. Those who live here know that it’s a great place in which to live and work and it’s always reassuring to see independent recognition of this.

“It is interesting to note that the majority of places in this table are not the big cities; London doesn’t even appear, but the smaller powerhouses like Warrington, Aberdeen, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Peterborough, Reading and Swindon.

“The Warrington economy is doing very well and it is our objective to maintain and grow upon that position of strength. We have a robust framework for growth in place, called Warrington Means Business and we certainly do mean business. Since 2013 we have announced development projects totaling £800 million of which over £450 million are either built or underway and there is more to come.”
