Father-of-three’s 2,000-mile cycle ride

A WARRINGTON man arrives home tomorrow (Sunday) after completing a 2,000-mile cycle ride which has been described as one of the most beautiful in the world.
Graeme Bailey, aged 55, from Great Sankey,  cycled the Pacific Coast Highway from Vancouver to the Mexican border with 17 friends.
The route crossed seven mountain ranges, reached heights of 9,000 feet and the riders had to endure temperatures of up to 40 degrees.
In doing so they have raised more than £130,000 for Hope House children’s hospice at Oswestry.
It is not the first mammoth cycle ride the group has completed. They organise a ride every other year and have previously cycled from John ‘O’ Groats to Lands End, Route 66 in the United States and also the US coast to coast ride.
The father-of-three was born in Burtonwood and now lives at Great Sankey with his wife, Angela who helps with fund-raising for the group.
Altogether they have raised more than £1 million for good causes.
