Lymm Festival set to be biggest and best yet

THIS summer’s Lymm Festival looks set to be the biggest and best yet with over 50 events running from June 16- 26 with something for everyone.

For families and children there are more events than ever. New for 2016 is a Family Garden Party, set in the grounds of Lymm Hall. The event is supported by Kid’s Planet and there will be baby, toddler and child-friendly activities with story-telling, music, five a side football, face painting and more. There is a competition and a trail to keep little ones busy and entertained.

For older children check out ComedySportz a fast-paced improvised comedy show aimed at those aged 8+. Players create quick witted sketches, scenes and songs from suggestions thrown at them by the audience, creating a show that is unpredictably funny. Or head up to Lymm High School for Lymm Live 2016 (previously Lymm Out Loud) a day of live music showcasing the young talent on your doorstep.

With headline acts; Robert Powell and Liza Goddard, The Boy with Tape on his Face and Rob Deering bringing drama and comedy it’s not just the children who look set to enjoy this summer’s line-up.

There’s music in abundance with live blues, jazz, rock and roll and modern folk. This year’s programme includes festival favourites such as LymmFest, Lymm Big Sing and David John Dee. For anyone looking to try something new, hidden gems such as Alligator Gumbo, The Young’uns and The Stumble all make their Lymm Festival debut.

Also, don’t forget there is FoodFest, Vaudeville Variety Show, Open Gardens, Historic Transport Day and the Trail Races to look forward to. A full list of events and advance tickets are available online at www.lymmfestival.org.uk
