LYMM Festival organisers have finalised their summer 2016 programme with something for all age groups and tastes during the eleven day event which runs from 16 – 26 June.

Kick starting with the popular Food Fest on Thursday, June 16, there are various favourites and hidden gems alongside headline acts bringing some familiar names and famous faces to Lymm.

Film buffs will be transported to a bygone age with tales of the Silver Screen presented by Robert Powell and Liza Goddard on Monday 20 June at Statham Lodge. The nostalgic romp will start with the Lumiere Brothers in Paris in 1895 and end with Bond 22 at Pinewood Studios in 2008, meeting Charlie Chaplin, Mae West, Mickey Mouse, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, Groucho Marx and many others along the way.

Credited as the “top of the bill” event for Summer 2016, Robert Powell and Liza Goddard are engaging and professional actors of screen and stage and the evening promises to be an enthralling insight into the Silver Screen.

Comedy fans might recognise The Boy with Tape on his Face, aka Sam Willis, a prop comic popular for his silent style of comedy who has appeared at many festivals including the Edinburgh Comedy Festival as well as on TV and appeared on the Royal Variety Performance. The Boy with Tape on His Face is reviewed as “hysterically funny” and “utterly spectacular” and a treat is in store for all at the Lymm Hotel on Friday 24 June.

From Live at the Apollo, The News Quiz and Fighting Talk, everyone’s favourite northern charmer Justine Moorhouse  is on at the Lymm Hotel on Thursday 23 June. Justin’s comic craft doesn’t flag for a whole hour and a funny and entertaining evening is anticipated. He will be accompanied by Markus Birdman, a controversial, personal and wickedly punchy comedian, renowned for his smart jokes and engaging stories. These two comedians will be compered by Kiri Pritchard McLean, recently nominated as Best MC at the Chortle Awards 2016.
