Stockton Heath swing bridge stuck open again

0

THE Manchester Ship canal Swing Bridge at Stockton Heath, Warrington, has stuck again, causing traffic delays – including a passenger ferry.

The bridge stuck partly open for more than hour, delaying the passenger ferry Snowdrop.

It is the second time in recent weeks that the bridge has been stuck, causing traffic chaos in the area.

Local councillor Celia Jordan, has already called for the bridge to be re-painted because of its unsightly condition – but it would appear that the mechanics of the bridge may also require an over haul.

The bridge was closed to traffic for about an hour but is now functioning again.
