A MAJOR fault on a power cable in Liverpool Road, Warrington, has resulted in the emergency closure of Milner Street.
Scottish Power is working on the problem and will continue to do so over the Bank Holiday. It is anticipated the work will be completed on Tuesday.
In the meantime, traffic on Liverpool Road is being managed by temporary two way traffic signals, manually operated until 7pm today and from 9am to 6pm over the weekend.
But a Town Hall spokesperson said delays were being experienced today. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
The faulty cable is near the Unilever works.
